Using Google CS First coding , I would show teachers (most likely 3rd grade and above) how to incorporate coding into subject areas. I would use the Storytelling unit (http://bit.ly/2TFBt8f) found in the Google CS First curriculum to show how it can be used to reinforce narrative storytelling techniques, such as dialogue, settings, and ultimately a narrative. I would order the student materials to use in the session so teachers would see exactly what the students would get from the program as well.
1. Discuss what is metacognition? 2. Show various graphic organizers and helpful tools that teachers can use to scaffold students metacognitive awareness. 3. Show how certain tech tools, like Screencastify and FlipGrid can help teachers reach out to students easier and guide them towards metacognitive awareness.
