This session is designed as an overview of the five principles for understanding English orthography (spelling). The more a teacher understands how English spelling works, the more likely students will improve their spelling and decoding.

When we are done, you will have time to experiment with the ones you are interested in and I can answer any questions you have. This session is geared at Administrators & Teachers K-12 who are interested in learning about Restorative Practices. Participants will learn about Community Circles and how their use in a classroom setting can build student-teacher relationships, classroom community, academic accountability, critical thinking skills as well as goal setting and even social emotional awareness. This presentation is a brief overview on how to implement Community Circles in the classroom. Participants will not only experience a Community Circle but will leave with resources and tools to utilize in their classrooms.
